(Cross posted at Hillbilly Report) Thank you Scott McClellan for your new book exposing George w. Bush, “Scooter” Libby, Dick Cheney and Karl Rove for the assholes we always knew they were.
Now it’s on with impeachment hearings and we have a brand new and improved product called impeachment spray for chickenshit members of congress.
Buy yourself a can of this stuff spray it on your representative and let the impeachment hearings begin, you have a good day now.
“And, you know, I’ve often thought about what would have happened had that person come forth and said, `I did it.’ Would we have had this, you know, endless hours of investigation and a lot of money being spent on this matter?
The New York Times is reporting that President Bush has commuted Lewis “Scooter Libby’s sentence, after an appeals court refused to delay Libby’s jail term. In his official statement, Pres. Bush says:
From the very beginning of the investigation into the leaking of Valerie Plame’s name, I made it clear to the White House staff and anyone serving in my administration that I expected full cooperation with the Justice Department. Dozens of White House staff and administration officials dutifully cooperated.
Yeah. “Cooperation” is this administration’s middle name. And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why I have never been to a riverboat casino or Churchill Downs. I always count my money when I’m sittin’ at the table.
Sinfonian at BlastOff! has a wonderful collection of hypocrisy from the right-wingers. Basically, 8 years ago, lying about a blowjob was the worstest thing ever. But being convicted on 4 counts of perjury and obstruction of justice? That’s like jaywalking! Scooter is being martyred!
Here’s a wonderful quote from Mitch McConnell:
Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY) – “I am completely and utterly perplexed by those who argue that perjury and obstruction of justice are not high crimes and misdemeanors…Perjury and obstruction hammer away at the twin pillars of our legal system: truth and justice.” [Congressional Record, 2/12/99]
It’s true! Lewis “Scooter” Libby, former chief of staff to VP Dick Cheney, was sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison, fined $250,000, and placed on probation for 2 years following his release from prison for his role in the CIA leak investigation. Provided his sentencing isn’t overturned on appeal, my money’s on a December 2008 pardon.
