A referendum on next year’s ballot to allow casinos at 12 sites in Kentucky, could hurt Democratic candidates running for office. The bill to have a referendum on the November 2008 ballot has already been filed and now it’s up to the legislators in Frankfort to vote Bill SB20 up or down. Kentucky requires the legislature to approve any bill that places a referendum on the ballot by a three-fifths majority.
If the Bill gets through the legislature knowing full well Kentucky is a very conservative state and could hurt Demcratic candidates, it would be in the best interest of folks like Brereton Jones, Bob Evans, Kentucky Equine Education Project, and the horse lobby to support all the Democratic candidates, in Kentucky, running for office with enough money to get them elected and pass the referendum.
If the Bill gets through the Legislature and folks like Brereton Jones, Bob Evans, Kentucky Equine Education Project, and the horse lobby don’t support Democratic candidates running for office, in Kentucky, with their money, then I suggest the referendum is doomed and that’s the way it should be.
So if you are a Democratic candidate running for office, I suggest you start calling these folks and ask for donations for your campaign and if they turn you down, tell them to take their referendum and stick it up their ass along with Senator Mitch McConnell and Congressman Ron Lewis!!!!!
