Remember Heather Ryan, well she gave one helluva speech at the Ned Breathitt Day Dinner, In Hopkinsville, Kentucky yesterday.
Heather Ryan, in the opinion of this writer, has been shit on by the Right Wing Neocons in Paducah, Kentucky and it’s time for “Yellow Dog” Democrats” all across Kentucky to stand up for this young lady and help her in her quest to out Congressman Ed. Whitfield.
I believe the right wing neocons in Paducah tried to label Heather and her daughter Heaven as two crazy females, but I’m here to tell you that Heather is anything but crazy and her daughter Heaven is one well behaved child.
My question for Western Kentucky Democrats is this: “Which Side Are You On“?
This was my first time to attend the Ruby Laffoon event in Hopkins County and it was great. Special thanks to Hopkins County Democratic Party Chair Brenda Harris Glover and all of the Democrats in Hopkins County. I know I must have called Brenda Harris Glover 5 or 6 times the week prior to the event and she answered the phone every time and was more than accommodating. The Hopkins County Democratic Party has a jewel and that jewel is Brenda Harris Glover. I knew this gal was smart when I received a email from her and she had a .mac email account, OK some PC users are smart to but I found this girl to be exceptional.
The event included a great meal.
Four of the Democratic primary Senatorial candidates spoke at the event and Dale Emmons spoke for Bruce Lunsford, who couldn’t make it to the event. The 4 senatorial candidates were Michael Cassaro, Greg Fischer, James E. Rice and Kenneth Stepp. Heather Ryan 1st District Congressional candidate gave a rousing speech.
Jerry Lundergan introduced Hillary Clinton and Hillary was well received, by those in attendance.
I hope to have video up of all the senatorial candidates, Heather Ryan and Jerry Lundergan introducing Hillary Clinton by Sunday evening.
I hope to have video up of Senator Hillary Clinton by Monday.
Thank you Hopkins County, I had one helluva time.

Clammyc (Adam Lambert) and thereisnospoon (David Atkins) welcome Democratic Congressional candidate Heather Ryan, who is running in Kentucky’s first district. This is the link to the show. Feel free to call in and ask Heather a question or make a comment.
Heather Ryan candidate for congress, in Kentucky’s 1st Congressional District has her web site up. Click here to view it. She built the site herself. The site is bare bones and a work in progress, but it does have all her contact information and her positions on the issues.
I don’t remember thanking Senator Mitch McConnell for anything, but I would like to thank him for inspiring Heather to run for congress. I’m a realist and realize that Heather’s chances of winning in November are slim, but I’ll take slim over no chance at all every day of the week.
Go girl go.
When I read the comment below by Congressman dubya Ed Whitfield, I realized this guy is out of touch with reality here in Kentucky. The fact is Kentucky has lost 2.3 percent of its manufacturing jobs, or almost 7,600, from September 2006 to September 2007 and 26,381 manufacturing jobs, in the previous 5 years, according to Manufacturers’ News. That amounts to 33, 981 manufacturing lost in Kentucky, in just six years.
When Ed Whitfield says “We have enjoyed a strong and robust economy, with impressive job growth over the past decade” I have to wonder what he is smoking!
Is it really a surprise to anyone other than Senator Mitch McConnell,Elaine Chao and Ed Whitfield, that when good jobs disappear and folks can’t afford to buy as much, the economy suffers? Yes Ed its the economy stupid and a stimulus package to give folks a little money to buy products made in China will not cure the mess you have helped put us in. You sir, along with your pal Senator Mitch McConnell, have helped put the United States of America in jeopardy with your never ending quest for cheap labor and your support of Corporate America moving the manufacturing base, with all of the good paying jobs, out of the United States of America to the lands of cheap and sometimes child labor. Mr. Ed sir, with all due respect, it seems you’re more concerned about horses than the stability of the United States of America!
Ed Whitfield:
“Over the years, the American economy has had its ups and downs. We have enjoyed a strong and robust economy, with impressive job growth over the past decade. Today, we are still creating jobs and our economy continues to grow but at a much smaller pace. The steps that are being taken by the government are designed to provide the necessary stimulus to give our economy a strong boost and prevent a recession.”
U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield
