The Dems are afraid of Bush’s 25% approval rating because it’s twice as high as there’s.
Also, the Dems can tell that the state of Iraq has shifted since the surge. The surge is winning (violence down 70%!!!!) and they’re running out of ways to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. Even their slimy effort to piss our ally Turkey off in time of crisis (talk about treasonous acts–if they made the calculated effort to break our alliance then they are TRAITORS pure and simple) has failed.
As many people still cling to the idea that we could have won VietNam if we wanted to, one day they will think “we could have won Iraq if the Democrats wanted us too.” That is if the Democrats get their way (which I don’t think they will).

This latest demand from the smirking chimp for more money to pour down his war rat hole, emphasizes the need for our democratic congress to grow a spine ! Why are the democrats so afraid of this ass with a 25% approval rating ? Why do Chandler , Clinton, Reed and others let Mitch tie them in knots of fear at the mention of buzzwords like “Soft on Terror, or Socialized Medicine”
Mitch and the Repugs need to go , and our DINO’s need to learn about PRIMARY CHALLENGERS.

We’ll never have free health care. If we ever do get away from privatized health insurance, as we should, we will still pay, and likely far less than we do now.

I am not sure what 25-y-old pansies have to do with anything. You think you’re being real clever there, states?

Glad to see you’re a here contributing to the dialogue.

I hope your prediction about universal healthcare comes to pass in the next few years.

But,come on, even the far right must understand the huge moral problem you run into when you continue to throw hundreds of billions of dollars at a war that can’t be won militarily while at the same time claiming that the government shouldn’t spend a fraction of that amount on health insurance for those among us who need it most.

Oh, I forgot, Bush says this new call for billions is to get ‘bullets and armor’ for the ‘troops”–so what happened to all those other billions that went for the troops’ supplies? Or did that go to pay for the mercenaries, Black water? Just where did those funds go?

Oh, I forgot this is what “Patreaus’ has said we need–did ya see Bush genuflect when he said the name of “Patreaus”?

yeah, says a lot about the Grim Old Party machine in general. “borrow and spend like drunken sailors’ no accountability, just throw out a few catchy reasons–’Patreaus–toops–bullets–armor–” yeah, that’s all it takes for the continuing scam of the GOP in their borrow and spend like drunken sailors economy.

Ah, but Shawn, you’re missing the point. All those billions of dollars spent and there’s been no attack in the United States since 9-11. If we spend that money on those kids, they’re still going to get sick. It’s just pouring money down a hole.
