Ok, I get it. When a REPUBLICAN screws around on his wife, he’s just a decent, normal dude, but when it’s a DEMOCRAT, he’s a disgusting pig that needs to be impeached.

Jim, I never would’ve pegged you for a Mix-A-Lot fan.

I had a good time last night before I went to bed reading all the defenses of Vitter on the message boards in Louisiana. It’s interesting to see conservatives/Republicans rationalize how what Vitter did was okay and even manly versus what Clinton did. Issue 1 for the conservatives: Vitter’s multiple prostitutes were prettier than the intern Clinton woo’d. Yes, because, you know, your ability to pay a hooker $300/hour for sex really does say a lot about your ability to ATTRACT BEAUTIFUL WOMEN TO YOU. Very manly, indeed. Issue 2 for the conservatives: Clinton lied about his offense to the nation; whereas Vitter only lied to his wife. Last time I checked, the Bible considered adultery a far worse offense than a lying politician. In fact, I don’t think the latter bit is every mentioned.

Well, at least we have one less Republican in the Senate who can talk about “family values”. That’s one good thing.

There’s a psychology at work among Republicans. You best the opposition by defeating yourself.

Valerie says she wasn’t dealing in prostitution. Valerie says she was operating an escort service. Part of the service, she says, catered to fantasy fulfillment, but without sex. Valerie hasn’t been convicted of prostitution.

Clearly David Vitter thinks he had sex. Or, perhaps for him, sex is a fantasy. Either way, he willing to convict Valerie not with proof but rather by his own self immolation and martyrdom. Not too unlike a jihadist.

What other Republicans are there, like Vitter and Fletcher, who both claim if they have sinned it’s the fault of others?

It’s bad enough to have an affair on your wife. It’s even worse to make it with prostitutes. I mean, isn’t it? I’m actually conflicted on that one, the more I think.

    Comeuppance.

There is a big difference when Republicans do it.
Number one, somehow they have their Lord’s blessing, their wives don’t give a damn and they like wearing soiled diapers.
