Well look at that… just as I predicted in this very page a few days ago, Congress’ approval rating has plummited in the wake of the funding bill impasse.
The Democratic congress’ approval rating has dropped like a stone to 35% according to AP-Ipsos (Bush has dipped down to 32%).
Yeah, unfortunately for your argument Herodotus, the approval rating of Congress reflects how people feel about both Republicans and Democrats. In fact, you could easily make the argument that it’s Republican obstructionism that Americans are fed up with. And, also, a high approval rating for Congress has historically been in the 40-percent range. That’s deadly territory for a president. You’re comparing apples and oranges. Even if you were talking about Nancy Pelosi’s rating nationally, it’s irrelevant (but it’s still higher than Bush’s). She only has to please her district.
