Heather Ryan Announces She is Pregnant; Ed Whitfield Won’t Debate

Shawn Dixon October 8th, 2008

Heather Ryan, KY-01 candidate for congress, held a press conference this morning and announced that her recent weight gain is a result of her pregnancy! Congratulations, Heather, to you and your family!

According to an e-mail from her campaign manager, Heather Ryan is five months pregnant. Her campaign manager says that the campaign will continue to move forward full speed ahead taking their message directly to the voters of the first district.

Ryan also announced that Ed Whitfield is following in the footsteps of his mentor Mitch McConnell and will not debate the issues important to Kentuckians. A debate on KET had been scheduled for October 13th. The Ryan campaign said they were informed this morning that Whitfield will not show up. Ryan will use the time on KET to talk about the issues important to the voters of Western, Kentucky.

It is absolutely unbelievable to me that Whitfield and McConnell think that at a time when our country is in two wars and just passed a $700 billion dollar giveaway last week that they can avoid the voters. I hope the people of the Commonwealth will put them in their place this November.

The worst financial crisis since the 1930s was stark reality for millions on Wednesday as retirement savings evaporated, jobs disappeared, stock market values slipped again and a dramatic cut in interest rates by central banks from Europe to Asia did little to stem three weeks of near panic.
What the International Monetary Fund termed a major downturn for the world economy was already evident to many, like the elderly Illinois couple who said this week they’d stashed $100,000 in cash fearing another U.S. bank failure…..
Stocks fell for a sixth straight session on Wednesday as a coordinated worldwide cut in interest rates failed to alleviate fears about a global recession.

Thank your lucky stars for Mitch McConnell’s leadership in the republican pork laden $805 billion bailout, ($700 billion for fat cats + $105 billion in pork for republican politicians), we only lost two trillion in our pension plans in the last six days! You’re doing a hell of a job Mitchie!
