McConnell’s Right Hand Man Named In Federal Report
Shawn Dixon October 6th, 2008
In case you missed it this weekend, a report published by the US Justice Department named Mitch McConnell campaign aide J. Scott Jennings in a report about the political wrongdoings surrounding the firing of US Attorneys by former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.
From the Herald Leader:
During his Washington stint, Jennings was ensnared in multiple scandals, including the controversial firing of nine U.S. attorneys, some of whom were not considered partisan enough by Republican politicians; the selection of immigration judges based on their political loyalty; and political briefings that he personally delivered to federal officials in various government buildings.
It also seems that the people now running McConnell’s campaign received their training from Karl Rove. No big surprise given how slimy the McConnell campaign operates.
Attorney General Michael Mukasey said he agreed with the report’s findings and called the department’s actions “haphazard, arbitrary and unprofessional.” He appointed U.S. Attorney Nora Dannehy of Connecticut to investigate for possible criminal prosecutions.
Jennings, like his mentor Rove, did not care that most of the federal government is supposed to be removed from partisan politics, said Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a watchdog group that closely followed the scandals.

Like husband, like wife.
As goes this senator, so goes the Labor Secretary.
McConnell’s wife Elaine, in her job as Labor Secretary, is now pushing a program that died a few years ago to have the Federal government do random drug testing with no valid warrant. In short, whoever the mine owner doesn’t like gets the random test.
Like her hubbie, she makes poor personnel choices. During the last failed attempt to ram this through, the person that Elaine sent all over the country to conduct all the public hearings, Ms. Rebecca J. Smith, has a long history of drug abuse herself!
Maybe she should have sent Rush.
Sec. of Labor Elain Cho has been a dismal failure.
Since she does not use McConnell, as her last name, who ever would have figured that her husband was “the” Senator. Why isn’t that against the law.
Pleaseee vote Sen. McConnell out, he will be lost without Bush, anyway.
