Sixty percent of Kentuckians approve of the job Gov. Steve Beshear is doing, according to the latest Courier-Journal Bluegrass Poll.

The statewide poll of 800 Kentucky residents found that just 23 percent disapprove of the way the Democratic governor is handling the job. The poll, taken last week, has a margin of error of 3.5 percentage points.

This is the first Bluegrass Poll to ask about Beshear’s job performance since he took office last December.

Beshear’s approval rating is 17 percentage points higher than former Gov. Ernie Fletcher’s was at this same point in his term.
