Republicans Leaders Decide America’s Future Based On Bruised Egos
Shawn Dixon September 29th, 2008
As you likely know by now, the bailout bill failed to pass the house. Citing hurt feelings, the Republican leadership in the House of Representatives is claiming that they lost their votes for the bailout because Speaker Nancy Pelosi apparently hurt their feelings in a speech before the vote.
Are they kidding? This is so transparent. Republican leaders, one after another are coming to the microphone in front on TV Cameras to blame Nancy Pelosi and talk about how they think Congress isn’t accomplishing anything.
This is a joke. You can’t make decisions about American’s future based on how sweet Nancy Pelosi is to you right before your vote. Listen, in my opinion, you can justify a vote for this either way, but blaming Pelosi’s unfriendly speech shows a complete lack of conviction.
UPDATE: Either Barney Frank reads Ditch Mitch, or I read Barney Frank’s mind. He just said at a press conference that he was appalled at Republicans because they are essentially saying “someone hurt my feelings, so I will punish the country!”
Here’s the Barney Frank video responding to Republican’s ridiculous claim”

It is very unwise to hand $700 billion to someone who is arrogant and in bed with the investment bankers of Wall Street like Henry Paulson. Like Obama said, let’s look at the language of this bill first. John McCain was chompin’ at the bit to vote for the bailout because trashy George Bush and Henry Paulson told him to vote for it. McCain is a follower and not qualified to be a leader. Perhaps Henry Paulson and Ben Bernanke should resign immediately.
