Percy, you had me until the nadir thing. So, yep, concern troll.

Magruder has much the same sentiments as me, but I still have a hard time seeing myself actually pulling the lever for Lunsford. Steve makes a good point that the republicans hold a threshold, but damn, we had a democrat running and he was a war hero. How did the blue dogs screw that up so badly?

I guess I’ll always be surprised by how far to the right some “democrats” are in this state. Even the ones in big cities like Luavull.

While I may end up voting for Lunsford, he will not receive my endorsement nor my assistance in the Fall campaign. He is indeed a Republican Lite, and will probably not vote much differently than McConnell would on most issues. That said, McConnell helps the Republicans hold a threshold in the Senate, and that must be broken. The Democrats need to have 60 Senators to make a filibuster-proof Senate. For that reason alone, I will hold my nose and vote for Lunsford.

Biggest Liar: Bruce Lunsford or Steve Henry?
Sometimes I wonder whether Bruce Lunsford (D) and Steve Henry (D) play a game to see who can pull-off the biggest lie to Democratic Party voters on any given day. Certainly we’ve seen Henry’s countless dishonest statements of late about his secret, off-the-books campaign finance account.

Now, let’s look at another Bruce Lunsford (D)…this time lying to those attending a Women’s Network luncheon last week:

He also was asked why he has given campaign contributions to Republicans, including Kentucky U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell.

Lunsford said as a businessman he had to offer some support to the state’s elected officials but that overall his contributions to Democrats outnumber those to Republicans by a margin of three to one.

First of all, what a wholly worthless and bogus excuse for a Democratic gubernatorial candidate to offer when it comes to giving more than $50,000 in donations to Republicans over the past decade.

But what’s so patently dishonest about this latest Lunsford excuse is that even if you strike contributions to already-elected Republican officials (as he suggests), you are left with this absurd laundry list of $37,000 in Republican contributions:

“alternative” bio-fuel (the fuel I’m talking about is ethanol which destroys the food supply and raise the cost of corn by 300% in less than 5 years)—on the table for McConnell and Lunsford
Limited our addiction on gasoline and moving toward 100% renewable energy for all electricity—OFF the table for McConnell and Lunsford
Listen replacing a die hard Republican with a conservative Democrat will not achieve anything. We will have the same politics as usual. That’s why Lunsford is down in the polls and remains that way. That’s why Lunsford should expect to lose by 10 more points in November. He simply cannot support every issue that McConnell support and call himself a man of change. Where is the change??? I have written Lunsford and I have urged him to support a more progressive agenda. We saw this year in the primaries that there is a lot more excitement to be a Democrat than a Republican. Dems out-voted Republicans 3 to 1 in a lot of states. Kentucky can be the epicenter of this zeal, if the candidates that are running support a progressive agenda. The only one doing that right now is Representative John Yarmuth. Why can’t the Dems in our state agree on something? Replacing Lunsford with McConnell is like replacing Bush with McCain—they are one in the same.

I urge everyone to go to http://www.votenader.org and check out Ralph Nader’s platform. He is the only progressive candidate running for president. We need real change here in Kentucky and America. I am a Democrat at heart, but with the way that the Democrats have handled themselves in the congress–excluding Rep. Dennis Kucinich–I am very disappointed in a party that has backed the corporate interest instead of the American people’s interest. Eugene V. The real enemy here is Mitch McConnell. This needs to be the focus. We need to oust McConnell from politics for good. I could be wrong but I don’t believe that there is that much more oil to be discovered, besides it won’t make any difference if the United States is in a severe economic depression. We need to focus on the issue of ousting Mitch McConnell before he and his corrupt political machine wrecks this country and eliminates prosperity for the citizens of the United States forever.

This is really great. Let’s show people how closely related Bruce Lunsford is to Mitch McConnell. What a great strategy to win the elction!!! That’s what we need in Kentucky and America, a spineless blue-dog Democrat that will side with the Republican and ditch any progressive agenda that Democrats represent. If you look at Bruce Lunsford energy policy and compare it to Mitch McConnell it is exactly what the corporations want. http://www.DitchMitchKy.com is rediculous. This website pisses me off. Instead of urging the moderate that is Bruce Lunsford to change some of his positions they abandon what they know is right. There was an article posted about offshore drilling and that fact that it will lower the price of gas by six cents in 20 years, but yet instead of blowing the horn and tell Bruce to back off this terrible policy they embrace it.
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. was in Louisville saying that we are addicted to gasoline and pursueing offshore drilling
is like giving crack to crack addict. You simply don’t do that. We need to urge Bruce and tell him, “HEY WE
NEED MORE CRACK, WE NEED SOLUTIONS.” Al Gore has proposed a plan to move our energy to solar, wind,
and hydrothermal in the next 10 years. Where is Bruce? Embracing the coal companies that ruin our environment
and raises many health problems for the employees that work in the mines. This is rediculous!! We need to
quit pandering the energy companies that are in Kentucky and make a real plan for the future. Green collar
jobs can not be outsourced and we in Kentucky need to protect our mountains and hills that we cherish so
much and urge this blue-dog Democrat not to pander to the right on issues that are important and are
desperately need in Kentucky and America!!!
Come on DitchMitch make a progressive agrument inside of folding your message and throw it out the window.
We need a REAL change in America. I don’t want to see Mitch in office, but I would also hate to have a
Democrat that supports almost all the issues that he does. This is rediculous. Where is the opposition party
in Kentucky? Democrats and Republicans are two heads with the same body. We need to urge Bruce
to not go down that lonely road and pander to the right. If Democrats are excited about voting, then we
don’t need one Republican vote or one independant vote, but just like B. Hussien Obama Bruce Lunsford is
moving to the right on many issues. We need universal single payer healthcare in America and Kentucky, but
where is Mr. Lunsford? No where near universal healthcare. For Bruce to get elected he needs to show
contrast with McConnell ON THE ISSUES and he simply cannot do that. DitchMitch knows that why they
talk about Mitch and not issues. THis site is proganda site for Democrats. Where is progressive blogsphere
in Kentucky?
