This is so funny I just had to blog it. Douglas Swanner from Columbia, Kentucky sent Senator Mitch McConnell a 4 cent check. This is what Douglas had to say: "The check is made out to what I have called Mitch for years, lifted from a  M*A*S*H rerun that I was watching years ago. Loretta Swift’s character, Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan, was in a drunken state defending her bumbling married lover, Major Frank Burns. She called him "a lipless wonder ." I immediately thought of Mitch, take a close look at his lips; they barely exist!
So, the check is made out to "The lipless Wonder Mitch McConnell," and I have noted in the "For" field, "For Services Rendered." It passed muster, they cashed it. I wish I kept a copy of the letter I sent with it, but it was actually hand written - not something I do often - telling him that I am sending what I "can stomach." I also added that he wasn’t worth a nickel, so……. I gave him four cents."
