Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) still desires your grandmother dead
Matt Gunterman July 27th, 2008
Earlier this month you’ll recall that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) wanted your grandmother dead by cutting off her access to government-subsidized health care. Cutting health care to the elderly means he can give more tax cuts to the rich and the corporations that give McConnell millions of dollars in return.
But, as we all know, our grandmothers are strong-willed and feisty women. Cutting off their health care just won’t do all of them in. So, what’s McConnell’s next plan?
Cut off aid to the poor and elderly (which in many cases are one and the same) to help them pay their air conditioning and heating bills. Heating bills in the Northeast, for instance, will double this winter in many cases. People will likely die and many more will certainly suffer without this aid.
As Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) had this to say about McConnell’s Senate GOP blocking this aid:
“Do we vote to keep the old, the sick and kids alive when the weather gets cold or very, very hot, or do we spend money on people who make huge campaign contributions? That is part of what this debate is about,” said Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont.
Yep. That’s what the debate is about. And we know where Mitch McConnell stands. There will be blood on McConnell’s creepy hands because of this. But it won’t be the first time he’s worked to ensure the misery of Americans in their most vulnerable states so that he can reward the fat cats who only use their gain to buy more houses.

Isn’t it a damn shame that these 65 year old grandmotherly types still support the idiot John McCain, who would also cut off medicare, and aid to the poor and elderly.
CW was refering to this Pew Research Poll: Obama Struggling With Older Women
Obama is falling short with some segments of the women vote. In particular, he currently polls considerably worse than his predecessors among all women age 65 or older. About one-third (35%) in this group support Obama, while 42% support McCain.
Matt, I am married to a grandmother. The company that I worked for for 35 years decided to break their promise to provide healthcare insurance for retirees like me and my wife. Now my grandmotherly sweet wife and I foot the bills and the right wing neocons just can’t understand why I’m pissed.
