Senator Mitch McConnell And John McCain Hold Fund Raiser In Louisville, Ky. And The Protesters Were There!

Jim Pence June 29th, 2008

Some of Kentucky’s most influential Republicans attended the $1,000 per plate event at the Kentucky International Convention Center. Organizers said the total raised was $2 million.
The $2 million will be divided among the Republican National Committee, John McCain’s campaign fund and the Kentucky Republican Party.
Who would have thought these two with their history would ever get together for a fund raiser, but times are tough for Republicans and it appears they are willing to sacrifice their values for self preservation.
What won’t make the news is the protesters at the event and Elaine Chao, Senator Mitch McConnell ’s wife and The Secretary of Labor getting her nails done, before the event, a few blocks from her house with a entourage of 2 SUV’s and as many as 6 security people. We have a short video clip, shot at a distance, of that incorporated in the video below.
Getting back to the protesters at the event. The protesters set up with the approval of the Kentucky State Police on the North West corner of 3rd and Jefferson Street, but were later ask to move across the street to the South West corner of 3rd and Jefferson, by the Kentucky State Police and then the protesters were asked to move to the corner of 3rd and Market Street by the Louisville Metro Police. It was obvious the secret service didn’t want us to view John McCain And Senator Mitch McConnell pulling into the Kentucky International Convention Center and it seems they didn’t want John McCain and Senator Mitch McConnell to see the protesters and their signs.
One of the protesters had his back pack searched by the Secret Service.
The Kentucky State Police and the Louisville Metro Police seemed to understand what we were doing and were very professional, but it seemed to me they were being jacked around by by the Secret Service, I feel at the request of Senator Mitch McConnell. Take a look at the video and judge for yourself.
Senator Mitch McConnell has a history of avoiding regular folks. I know this because I’ve tried to get video of him in the following places: Buckner, Ky ., Berea, Ky ., Louisville, Ky. at the Olmsted BOO-LA-LA Fete D’Halloween gala and even at his own home but the chickenshit Senator from Kentucky sneaks in and out of these venues avoiding his constituents.
I must say, I didn’t feel very free today!!!!!!!!!!

I love this video. It is exciting to know that people still care about the state of our country and those who represents our great state of Kentucky.

I especially liked when one of female suits was approached and asked if she cared about the Arctic Caps melting she said, “Go to Super America and get you some ice there.”

Are you serious? A global castrophe is coming and she told us to go to Super America!!!

Excuse me miss, but that is most crude statement I have ever heard. Republicans have ruined our country they have created an ELISTIST government in that they know what best for us and don’t represent the people. They are CALLOUS in that they don’t care about our needs. Furthermore, the Republicsn style government is RECKLESS in that there is no responisiblity in a Republican controlled government.

OUR government needs to be REPRESENTATIVE because it is made by WE THE PEOPLE and should remain as such. RESPONSIVE in that it knows our needs and solves problems based on our needs. Lastly, there needs to be RESPONSIBILITY in our government so we can people accountable for wrong doings and know who is doing the wrong things (ahem…McCain and McConnell) and kick them out of office.

Those are fundimentials in our government. There is nothing wrong with a big government or a government that meets the ALL of the needs of the people. The problem is ineffective government which is related to this idea of a “small” government. Grover Norquist said that he doesn’t want to kill government he just wants to be able to take in the bathroom and drown it death. This is why Republicans are ELISTIST, CALLOUS, and RECKLESS.

Thank you Jim, for this EXCELLENT video. And thanks Percy for highlighting the truly obnoxious comment from a McBush supporter about the melting polar ice caps — “go to Super America and get you some ice!”

McCain made the national news in Louisville with his nasty attacks on Obama (mainstream media loves that stuff), but we were there to see his pathetic supporters as they trudged into the Convention Center.

But hey, Elaine’s nails looked mighty fine!

This is sad. Is the best you can come up with against McCain and McConnell. I wonder what kind of Secret Service detail goes with Michelle Obama when she gets her nails done. She is an extremely weatlhy person, I doubt she uses clippers…. Have you investigated that yet? You gotta love this deep thought provoking investigative reporting….

What is wrong with the Secret Service checking out the back pack? I hope they would do that for the candidates of both parties.

Until you realize that it’s not the “Republicans” that have destroyed the country, I feel we have no hope. It is elected officals from both parties that have caused this mess we are in. There is plenty of blame to go areound from the Clintons (how dare me), to Obama to George Bush. We need to vote out everyone currently in office and allow some new blood in.

I feel so sorry for you Percy Morales, you sound very elitest in your comments… Sit back and think about what you wrote. General statements like this are among the reasons I am not a Democrat.

I know this will probably never be posted here, because like many in our society, you fear intelligent, thought out political discussion……

    To Mike,
This is not the best we can come up with on McConnell. The best is yet to come and it will come at the right time.
So you think Percy Morales is an elitist? Wow, your brain has really been washed!!!

    To Mike,
Did you read my comment? I really think your ignoring what I wrote. I am not an elitest. You, friend, want to push your philosophy upon everyone. Elitest think they know what is best for America not by what the people want, but why what they want. In a Stan and Anna Greenberg poll conducted in 2003 they asked 1,000 likely voters what governmnet should be responsible for. Here are the response:
-Protecting the environment: 93% (69% strongly)
-Keeping tabs on and regulating big corporations and powerful individuals who may abuse their position and hurt other in society: 92% (71% strongly)
-Ensuring equal opportunity for everyone: 88% (67% strongly)
-Guaranteeing a quality public education: 87% (70% strongly)
-Guaranteering that all have health care insurance: 79% (60% strongly)
-Making sure that no one lives in proverty: 76% (49 strongly)
-Helping people not fall back when they face a crisis, become unemployed, or face big health care, college, or retirement costs: 75% (40% strongly)
Sounds like to me a bunch of “elitest” live in America. My statements are not elitest, they are the will of the people. My comments spawned from Mitch McConnell and environment. What is Senator McConnell environmental rating from League of Conservation Voters is a whooping 7%. From Someone who is “represents” the will of the people he sure doesn’t vote like it.
That Mike is Elitest. Here’s the link for you check:

Oh and if you wondering about John McCain….His score is a big fat ZERO.
