Jim Pence,
You obviously are a supporter of Heather. I respect your judgment. I have watched all of your videos featuring Heather. I have watched all of her videos on her website. Please help me to understand her platform. Every video of her speeches that I have seen proclaims the same message. According to her videos, she is running for Whitfield’s seat because she believes she was wrongfully dismissed from her employment due to Mitch McConnell. Her videos indicate she is all about alternative energy, veteran’s rights, and health care for all. Yet she doesn’t ever speak to her solutions. Since she doesn’t speak about what she intends to do about these issues that do deserve to be addressed, can you educate me as to what her ideas are?
I believe Heather really cares about people and I hope she gets elected. Ed. Whitfield seems to care about horses and the last thing we need is a Department of Horse-land Security.

maybe somewhere around 50,but why does Ed keep pushing the horse thing?

Congress to address Thoroughbred safety
by Steve Bailey, Ed DeRosa, Tom Musgrave, and John Hay Rabb
Trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. is one of more than a dozen Thoroughbred industry representatives scheduled to testify on June 19 in Washington, D.C., at a Congressional hearing looking into safety issues in the sport.
Representative Bobby Rush (D-Illinois) is chairman of the subcommittee with Representative Ed Whitfield (R-Kentucky) the ranking Republican. Whitfield’s wife, Connie, is a Kentucky Horse Racing Authority member who serves as chairwoman of the commonwealth’s Equine Drug Council.
Rep. Ed Whitfield, R-Ky., said steroids should be banned - not regulated - in horse racing but questions whether the sport has the ability to police itself.
“There are enough people I have great respect for who say this industry is really beginning to be in trouble,” Whitfield said.
Kilowat,
Finally, something upon which we both agree. I would rank Thoroughbred safety just below Congress’s probe into pro baseball’s steroid use and just above Specter’s witch hunt on the use of video cameras by the New England Patriots to tape coach’s signal.
She seems to have a pretty good grip on the FISA Bill:
While I was in Washington on that terrible day of Sept. 11, 2001 when planes crashed into the World Trade Center and in Western Pennsylvania, and the Pentagon, I can understand the passion that has fueled this bill. Having said that, I must urge the Senate to reject this FISA compromise as proposed and passed by the House of Representatives with H.R. 6304.
There are several reasons why I feel this bill is unnecessary. First, I think that we have lost focus on the fact that a competent Administration could have actually gone a long way in preventing this tragedy. The Bush Administration was warned in advance of 9-11 and did nothing at the time to prevent it. I believe if the Bush Administration would have acted on the intelligence provided them, then the 9-11 tragedy could have been avoided through the laws that existed at the time.
I also believe this law is an extension of the Bush Administration’s attempts to politicize the Justice Department. Prosecuting entities are provided by the Constitution with checks and balances on which to operate. They already have very broad powers and if they found a credible threat would have no problem getting a warrant in a timely fashion.
Finally, I believe that FISA and this compromise are an abomination to the Constitution because it seeks to circumvent the checks and balances provided all of us by that sacred document. I strongly oppose giving the Telecom Corporations immunity when they knew they were breaking the law, when the Bush Administration asked them to break the law.
I saw where my opponent in this race, “Exxon Ed” Whitfield voted for this Legislation. I think it is pretty ironic when the very Republicans who lecture us regarding limiting the roll of the Federal Government propose, and push through, the House of Representatives a bill that vastly broadens the powers of the Federal Government. This is one issue on which Progressives, Moderates and Conservatives should all be able to agree. There are certain things on which none of us should ever compromise, and the Constitution is one thing on which I will never compromise as Representative of Kentucky’s First District.

As far as Renewable Energy goes, she plans to vote for funding to at least attempt to get it off the ground for once.
She plans on fighting for healthcare for children and all Americans, not vote against it.
I think you will find that she will never vote against the funding our veterans have earned like Whitfield did. By the way, here is the link to many of those votes:
In Congress, it really just helps if someone votes the right way. I can assure you though, she will come up with more solutions in the Congress than a ban on eating horsemeat. Just a hunch….
tristateareasvoice is a punk.
I haven’t heard from tristateareasvoice in a while, is he/she OK? I don’t agree much with tristateareasvoice, but I miss the banter.
