Mitch filibusters to protect gender discrimination
Joe Sonka April 24th, 2008
Some things are just so important, they justify blocking the will of the majority.
Making sure that employers are free to discriminate against women is one of those, according to Mitch McConnell.
And once more, McConnell has blocked popular, bipartisan legislation from a vote, as only 57 Senators favored the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act last night. Add women to the growing list of constituents that Mitch McConnell enjoys screwing over (sick kids, union workers, troops, veterans, etc….)
But don’t worry… when this guy is running the show next year, things are going to change.

As a civil rights attorney, I once handled a Federal law suit against a newspaper corporation alleging that they had discriminated against a woman because she was a woman. Actually, it was a Shelbyville, Kentucky newspaper corporation that owned an out-of-state newspaper. I represented a black woman in another Federal civil rights suit claiming that she was discriminated against in employment because she was black. I took a third Federal civil rights law suit against a big power corporation on behalf on a white man to a jury verdict, alleging that they discriminated against him because of his old age. I know none of the other eight (six Democrats and two Republicans) candidates for U.S. Senate Kentucky have never done anything like that, but the people of Kentucky want millionaires as their representatives–not civil rights lawyers, according to the polls. Kenneth Stepp, a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate, KY.
Thanks, Joe for posting this. Just another reason for Ditching Mitch!
Kenneth Kentucky has the best politics money can buy!!!!
Wouldn’t it be nice if our spinless democratic leadership would MAKE THE BASTARDS ACTUALLY FILIBUSTER!!!
You know, give the news media some reason to show the public what Mitch did to them!
Take that bitch.
