Geoff Davis apologizes to Barack Obama, thus avoiding a black eye and a fat lip. Geoff, seems to have let his Jim Crow roots slip right out of his mouth.
Geoff Davis, sir I suggest you view the photos below and get an idea what you’re gonna look like when you call the wrong man a boy!!!!

Geoff Davis needs a fat lip for his part in this stuff also:

Home Foreclosure Filings Jump 57% in 12 months and repossessions are up 129% in the last year. - and according to RealtyTrac, the peak has not been reached. “What we’re really looking at is ongoing fallout from people overextending themselves to buy homes they couldn’t afford and using highly toxic loan products to get into the houses in the first place,” said Rick Sharga, vice president of marketing at RealtyTrac, based in Irvine, California. “We’re going to see quite possibly a record amount of foreclosure activity in the third or fourth quarter,” he added. A record number of loans are going to reset in the next two or three months.

    (from ChrisSal at PHX news.com)
“In 2005, Davis once lectured from the House floor that Rep. Jack Murtha (D-PA) and similar critics of the Bush war policy were “despicable, dishonorable, uninformed, unhistorical, anti-intellectual and, frankly, un-American.”
In 2006, Davis became the top recipient of the payday loan industry and carried their water in opposing caps on high interest rates for payday loans made on military bases, even sharing proposed legislation with the industry after receiving thousands in contributions.”

Geoff Davis: Putting Payday Loan Sharks Before Troops
It’s a remarkable time in the United States. Veterans Day just behind us. Hundreds of thousands still in Iraq. Veterans from all walks of life without access to health care. Thousands of active duty military families crumbling beneath financial strain and looming economic disaster. So it’s a good time to remind you that Northern Kentucky’s Geoff Davis (R KY-4)– a man of the military cloth himself– stood and is still standing up against our military in favor of despicable payday loan sharking.
An estimated 20% of our military men and women are forced to rely upon payday borrowing costing them over $80 million in fees every year. They’re often being charged more than 400% interest rates that lock them into a lifelong cycle of debt.

Where’s the beef? Does it concern anyone else that our politicl procees has sunk to this low level?

    From the BBC:
The 90-minute debate in Philadelphia gave the candidates a chance to make their case to Pennsylvania’s Democratic voters.

But if Barack Obama had hoped this debate would concentrate on policy, he was disappointed, says the BBC’s Jamie Coomarasamy in Philadelphia.

The first 45 minutes focused on recent gaffes, our correspondent says.

Representative Geoff Davis has made national news in the last few days with a remark he made recently at a Republican fundraising event. He was quoted as saying of Senator Obama: “That boy’s finger does not need to be on the button…”

I do not know what was going through Representative Davis’ mind when he made these remarks, nor do the people commenting on Davis’ remark. Racism has been a serious problem in our country and unfortunately still exists.
Ironically, Senator Obama has himself done much recently to help our nation confront the remnants of racism. Since racism is such an important issue,
charges of racism should not be leveled lightly. We do not know what was in Geoff Davis’ heart when he used the poorly chosen word “boy”, but at
this point it is fair to say we do not have the appropriate weight of evidence to judge this as an intentionally racist remark. Poor judgment? Yes. Deliberately intended to diminish Mr. Obama as an individual and denigrate his experience? Self-evidently. Fanning the flames of partisanship that paralyze our government? Absolutely. But racist? We can not afford to make a snap judgment in such a weighty matter as labeling someone racist.

It seems regrettable that a possible verbal gaffe has drawn national disapproval to Representative Davis when his voting record in Congress, which
is clear and incontrovertible, should be far more influential in helping folks form their opinions of Mr. Davis. Representative Davis has voted against providing healthcare for children via SCHIP. Mr. Davis has voted to protect the payday lending industry, an industry which rewarded him with the dubious honor of donating more money to his campaign than to any other Representative
or Senator. And Mr. Davis has continued to carry George W. Bush’s water in defense of the disastrous ongoing occupation in Iraq. I strongly feel that Geoff Davis’ votes give any reasonable observer ample reason to disapprove of his performance, without requiring us to speculate about his recent controversial comments.

    Mike Bailey Says:
Mr. Davis said what he said and it revealed just as his votes on all the major issues have revealed, just how out of touch he is with the folks he is supposed to be representing.
Those of us that take the time to travel all over the state, into the real small towns and rural areas understand what Mr. Davis said plays well with some folks in these areas and we know exactly what Mr. Davis meant.

And that (see #4, above) is just the problem and McConnell’s strength.
On a lighter note … Davis actually looks like Bubba the meth-head in the after. Good work!
