ACCORDING TO GREG FISCHER BRUCE LUNSFORD SKIPS RUBY LAFFOON DEMOCRATIC DINNER IN MADISONVILLE TO ATTEND A $6 MILLION HORSE RACE IN DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES.

Jim Pence March 31st, 2008

According to Greg Fischer’s web site Bruce Lunsford skipped Saturday’s Ruby Laffoon Democratic Dinner in Madisonville event to attend a $6 million horse race in Dubai, United Arab Emirates and had Dale Emmons speak for him at the event. As a voter I have to question Bruce Lunsford’s priorities. Is attending a $6 million horse race in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, more important than than meeting, greeting and speaking to the folks in Madisonville, Kentucky? As a voter that really wants to defeat Senator Mitch McConnell, I have this to say to Bruce Lunsford “get your act together”.
I know for a fact that
Michael Cassaro, Greg Fischer, James E. Rice and Kenneth Stepp got to the event early and left late. These guys seem to have their priorities straight.
Bruce Lunsford also missed the Louisville Metro Democratic Club debate. Do we have a pattern here?

Lunsford, had planned a trip to Dubia with his business interests long before he entered the race and long before Ruby Lafoon was scheduled. Sometimes there are things you cannot reshedule.

I received the following email today:

    RESPONSE TO EMMONS SPEECH

On March 29, 2008 at the Ruby Laffoon Dinner in Madisonville, Dale Emmons speaking on behalf of the Bruce Lunsofrd campaign said, “Change For Kentucky, also another working families group, agrees it’s time for Bruce to replace Mitch McConnell in the United States Senate.”

It is NOT so that we “agree.”

In fact as a statewide organization Change For Kentucky is taking no position in the US Senate primary. Our individual members and our local groups may be working with a particular candidate, but our organization has no official position on who the best candidate would be.

For the record, we endorsed Jonathan Miller and then Steve Beshear in the Democratic primary for Governor in ‘07. More recently we endorsed Andrew Horne for the ‘08 Democratic nomination for US Senate.

Since that time we have made no announcements on who should or should not be supported for any office. However, we do remain committed to our core mission: sharing information and training with our local groups throughout the state, so they can support the candidates of their choice.

Taking credit for support that is not there is nothing new to the Lunsford crew.

Their name recognition may be substantive, but one has to ask…….for what is their name recognized??

Actions speak louder than words, and Kentucky has been watching, Bruce.

Please don’t send any more mail at our address. My husband or I either one don’t plan on voting the democrate ticket.
