I agree. I had questions for Ms. Ryan. I would like for them to do that again and take questions from the voters. I don’t think that she will open herself up to that. Maybe Ms. Ryan will prove me wrong.

Ed Whitfield has townhall meetings in every county every year. In fact he was in Mayfield this past Saturday. He was in Paducah Friday with a $1,000 check for the Red Cross. Saturday he was in Paducah, Fulton, Mayfield, Eddyville and Murray. All public forums. Pick up a paper and read about. You do not even have to dig it was on the Paducah Sun’s front page where I read about it.
Maybe we could have one of the townhall meetings at Ed’s place. That is if his Dad doesn’t mind. Wow and he does this once a year you couldn’t ask any more from a Rep.

Ed Whitfield has town hall meetings in every county and he is those counties allot more than once a year. If you read your papers you would know he was in the Purchase area five times in the past month in several counties.
You all love to just through out things that sound good to you but check your facts.
Ed Whitfield is in KY One. What about three years of town hall meetings Ed Whitfield had about the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit for seniors. Ed Whitfield let people know the program was on the way, what it does and then brought in government experts to help people sign up. Sounds like a Congressman on the job to me. He was a key sponsor of the Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit in Congress.
Let’s talk about Mayfield. What did then Gov. Paul (D) Patton do to help save the plant? What did then State Se. Bob Jackson (D) do to save the plant?
What has Ed Whitfield done for Mayfield and its workers and citizens? Look it up and check your facts.
Here is what Ed Whitfield has done for Graves County:
Secured 1 million dollars for the mega industrial site for a future car manufacturing location.
Secured funds for the Graves County Industrial Park.
Secured funds to create Methamphetamine drug task force in Mayfield.
Hosted an Economic Development forum at the Purchase Area Ad District in Mayfield to find ways to attract new business.
Passed legislation in Congress to create the Delta Regional Authority which has brought millions of dollars to Kentucky One industrial development and thousands of jobs to WKY through new plants. 56 new plants since 2000.
What I wanted to ask Heather on her radioblog was this: Ed Whitfield has been on the job for 14 years for WKY. Heather Ryan moved to Kentucky two years ago. My question to her is what as a new resident to Kentucky does she have to offer to a region she is unfamiliar with and does not know its people, towns or elected leaders. What towns has she been to the last 30 days and what issues has she addressed in those towns and how many people turned out to listen to her ideas?

Five million dollars to be used for a regional industrial development project
Frankfort, KY: Governor Ernie Fletcher presented a check for five million dollars to Graves County Fiscal Court today. The money will be put towards the development of a multi-county regional park.
The Purchase Area Regional Industrial Authority Park, which will consist of up to 2,500 acres, will allow for the recruitment of a major manufacturing or assembly plant to locate in Graves County.
“Economic development is a crucial priority of my administration,†stated Governor Fletcher. “Creating jobs creates new opportunities and improves the quality of life for Kentucky families. Moving forward on projects such as this regional industrial park puts the purchase region in an attractive position to entice new employers to locate in this wonderful area of our great Commonwealth.â€
The $ 5 million economic development bond grant was authorized by the 2003 General Assembly.
The eight counties that are included in the Purchase Area Regional Industrial Authority are: McCracken, Graves, Ballard, Marshall, Hickman, Carlisle, Fulton, and Calloway.

You need money to buy the field so a company can locate there. Then you need to bring in power lines, gas lines roads etc… like the 4 lane expansion of 68/80 to Mayfield that just opened this fall and is underconstruction in Murray. That takes time and money.
Then your Chamber of Commerce, Ad Board and elected officials work to attract a company to the location. That is an effort going on now.
You do not just wave a magic wand and a multi billion dollar plant shows up. It takes years of ground work. Ed Whitfield is getting the job done to make sure the site is attractive to a company to locate to.
As I said before you do not need me to tell you where Congressman Whitfield is in Kenyucky One. It is public information. Read the paper and listen to the radio. That is how I hear about it. The Red Cross event the Congressman was at on Friday was on the radio all week in Paducah and in the Sun.

This post seems to be getting of topic we need to focus on Heather’s big radio/blog debut.
I find it interesting she ran after Senator McConnell with a camera to ask a question but she took no blog or phone questions nor explained why they could not take questions to the audience. I would like to have heard her say she was at least disappointed at not being able to hear from voters. She sure did talk about not being able to ask McConnell a question. The irony is just so obvious.
Ok so the radio blog basically was no big deal because it rehashed that Heather is from Iowa, she got involved in politics at age 10 because of a movie on the cold war, severed state side in the navy, worked in DC for five years, helped Eric Streit’s losing effort , was fired because she used employee keys to enter the building through an emergency exit and really needs campaign money. We know the drill we have seen it all on Heather’s you tube videos. Nothing new was discussed nor did it explain why she is qualified to be a member of Congress.
I want to hear Heather speak in detail on the issues. My question for her was on her resume.
Mrs. Ryan we have heard you speak on video about your 5 years with a Women’s Organization in Washington D.C. Can you tell us what the organization is, what your job was and from your work experience at this job how do you feel it prepared you to run for Congress?
II think this a fair question, not partisan and something voters would want to know.
Mrs. Ryan people are concerned that Graves County has an unemployment rate of 7% on average. Had you been an elected official at the time Mayfield Tire closed what would you have done different from the actions taken by county and state officials to make sure the plant stayed in Mayfield?

I have a question also. It’s funny that on her website she calls Ed Whitfield a no show and says he is “never” in the district, but I had a chance to, but did not meet Heather at Congressman Whitfield’s town hall meeting at PCC. That was back in 2007. It was an open fourm and many questions were asked of the Congressman. However, none of them where by Heather Ryan. Seems to me that she had the perfect chance to ask him about the war, unemployment, his voting record or anything else that she wanted. She passed up the chance.
