Keys Shouldn’t Be Thrown Away
Terri Whitehouse February 29th, 2008
Hot on the heels of news that +1 in 100 adults in the U.S. are in prison comes an excellent diary entry by Joe G. at BlueGrassRoots about the human side of felon disenfranchisement in Kentucky. The fact that Kentucky leads the nation in the growth of imprisoned population is especially troubling.
I implore you to take a look at KFTC’s site and learn more about felon disenfranchisement in Kentucky, particularly under disgraced former Gov. Ernie Fletcher. You can contact your legislators by going here. And while you’re at it, tell Republican Rep. Jeff Hoover to quit tacking on superfluous amendments and remind Republican Rep. Addia Wuchner that even Pres. George W. Bush agrees that literacy tests are bullshit. (Of course, we know that literacy isn’t his strong suit.)

George Bush has a strong suit, it’s dodging the draft.
If you support giving voting rights to felons (and what Democrat wouldn’t want to tap into that mostly untapped source of Democratic votes) then you should contact Brent Yonts, D-Greenville. He has been leading the way on this cause. He proposed similar legislation last year…
right after his son was put away for murder.
Well actually, I think I should be fair…
He first proposed his bill while his son was awaiting trial.
Oh, but I do want to thank you for one thing… that is the FIRST time I’ve seen this stat on an extremist liberal blog (and it’s on every liberal blog) that the author did not claim this to be “proof” of racism in America.
As a result, I will downgrade the warning level I use to refer to your page from “Extremist Liberal Blog” to “Ultra Liberal Blog.” Keep it up and you’ll be a “Mostly Harmless Liberal Blog” in no time.
Well, this seems to be an up-and running blog page.
I think that it’s great to bash bush. Understand, there is a long history of lies and abuse that are part of this country.
Regarless of you party affiliation you are better than the the party you support.
The Government does not define the parties yet we are gerally voting towards one of the two.
The people and the ideals of this country define what and who we are by any name, I could be of the ostrich party, would you vote for me?
