Sen. Chuck Schumer (D) wrongly blames Kentucky blogger for calling him a lizard

Matt Gunterman February 15th, 2008

Sen. Chuck “Lizzy” Schumer (D?-NY)

Sen. Chuck Schumer (D?-NY) was at Yale Law School today. I myself didn’t know about the talk (I was buried deep in manuscript writing) and didn’t go, but friends who were in the audience report that Schumer took the time in his talk to single out a progressive Kentucky blogger for calling him a lizard.

Now, even though Kentucky’s progressive blogosphere has had unkind truths to speak of Schumer as of late, I think the senior senator from New York is mistaken here.

It’s Down With Tyranny that has correctly identified Schumer’s genus and species as Phrynosoma modestum.

Last I checked, Down With Tyranny’s not based in Kentucky. He–like many others–just happens to share some opinions about Schumer, who will from now on be Chuck “Lizzy” Schumer.

In the PURELY metaphysical sense, I’d have to say MediaCzech.

That said, this lizard is easier on the eyes than ol’ Lizzy Schumer.

Lizard is too good of a name for Schumer. Call the DSCC to express your outrage and demand his removal as head of this dysfunctional political fiefdom.

    Call the DSCC 202-224-2447.
Pass the word — tell your friends to call.

I can’t sit back anymore. The Browns and Yarmuth take a lot of responsibility for Horne being out. After Horne backed JY to the hilt in 2006 the Browns recruit one of their Country Club buds, Fischer, and pressure the Louisville money into sitting out so Fischer can have a chance to buy it. Then the Jefferson County elected officials line behind the money or sit out as usual. The Louisville Progressives should look a little closer to home to find who undermined Horne.

I ripped into him when he came onto Kos, but I didn’t call him a lizard. I just wanted answers about his role in Horne dropping out and told him I thought it was because our national party is once again going to refuse to invest in Kentucky.

We,in Kentucky, have very few lizards. We do have quite a few geldings, witch is a more apt expression for a Democratic Senator these days.

You made some respectable factors there. I looked on the internet for the issue and found most people will go together with along with your website.
