If this matter about Whitfield's residency had any legs, it would have been settled years ago. You guys won the Hunter Bates and Dana Stephenson residency challenges (well technically you didn't challenge Bates but that RINO Steve Nunn did); no reason to believe you wouldn't have won a residency challenge against Whitfield if it had any validity.

The last Kentucky Congressman I can remember who did not live in his district was Carl Christopher Perkins, who lived in Mt. Sterling (the old 6th District) while representing the old 7th District. Of course state law requires only residence in the state, not in the district, but it's still funny that someone who didn't live in the district was representing it. Of course the reason that he won was because so many voters thought they were voting for his dead father, Carl D. Perkins. There's a reason Chris Perkins appeared on the ballot as Carl C. Perkins. It has something to do with those intellectual heavyweights that comprise the Democrat electorate in Eastern Kentucky.

Actually I was unclear in my post Terri, I didn't make it clear that I was refering to the Dem's leadership being unhappy with primary races dividing resources, yet you Dem-supporters attack Republicans for the same thing.

Glad we cleared that up and I give you my appologies. You are right, you and Matt have supported primaries from the start.

Now would you care to clear up wether you support using homophobia and bigotry to spread bigoted lies about candidates? Where do you stand on allowing Jim Pence to use your pulpit to spread such disgusting lies that only reveal his true bigotry and lack of character?

#16- Use some common sense. THe 1st has traditionally supported democratic gov.s and dems on the local level, but consistently votes republican on the national level. Why? Because we have nothing in common with Pelosi, Clinton, Barack, or any of the other beltway dems.

I voted for Beshear but you won't catch me dead voting for that left wing nut job Heather Ryan.

Yeah but the Dems won the Governors race in 98 and didn't gain in Congress here in Kentucky, did they?

How funny is it that you guys have been attacking Republicans for not wanting a primary in Louisville's district yet you yourselfs attacked the idea of a Democratic Primary for the right to lose by 10 to Mitch?

You're right kilowat... Eddie voted exactly as his conservative district would like to see him vote... therefor he keeps getting re-elected. (And it's probably worth noting he went against Republican's stances on minimum wage increases and the torture bill stuff).

However, I would say it's refreshing to see someone on here try to look to the record and to positions to attack a candidate and not to just rest on outright lies about their sexuality. See, that is political discourse. The other stuff is just revealing your (not kilowatts, Jim Pence's) deeply-hidden bigotry and your desire to do anything to win.

Oh Terri, The use of my real name is to drive home the point to Matt that he is supposed to be better then this. He has overlooked such things on this board for far too long.

Unless you have some explination for why Jim Pence gets to be a homophobic lie-spreader, then you don't have a horse in this race. Or do you have the power to fire Jim, cause if you do then you're as bad as him.

Excuse me? How am I being a hypocrite? I (unlike Jim Pence) have never falsely accused anyone of being gay for political benifit. Supposedly these Dems on here are against that, but time and time again they have resorted to that childish act.

To say all Republicans are Bigots is a gross lie too. But what do you care, you support bigoted idiots like Jim Pence! So I guess that makes you either a bigot or a hypocrit because you attack Republicans for doing what you do/support!

And for all the lamenting you guys do about how Republicans but the gay sex admendment on the ballot to bring in votes, you yourself are bigots.

Disgusting.

I hope Matt is still above this stuff... for if he's not then his credibility has taken a major hit.

Wow! Rory, thanks for being a hypocrite! But hey, that's the staplemate of the Republican Party!

After all, look at Larry Craig or Mark Foley.

The Republicans are BIGOTS! Each and every last cotton-pickin' one of them!

Her's a quarter, call someone that cares!

Jim Pence you are a DISGRACE. To slide in your homophobic and completely out of place allegation about Whitfield's sexuality (in your last post with the little girl who's being exploited to hold up the sign) makes you an utter piece of crap.

And to think that Matt Gunterman (who himself was a victim of such bigoted-propelled LIES of the exact same nature) would allow you to continue posting here is sickening.

Come on Matt... stay true to your beliefs... fire JIM PENCE! Or you're no better then the backwards bigots you have ALWAYS opposed!

Kilowat,

If Whitfield is a rubber stamp for Bush, why did he vote to over ride a veto recently?
