Ooooooh! Buuuuurrrrn!
Terri Whitehouse February 2nd, 2008
There is an excellent editorial in today’s Courier-Journal about Sen. Mitch McConnell titled, appropriately enough, “The Back Of His Hand“:
Millions of Americans are in economic trouble, while the Big Energy friends of George W. Bush and Mitch McConnell wallow in historic profits. Yesterday, Exxon Mobil Corp. posted the largest annual gain ever by a U.S. company — $40.6 billion. The rest of us are left to cower at the gasoline pumps.
Mitch McConnell feels he deserves re-election because he “does so much for Kentucky.” Never mind what he and his friend have done to America.
For real, though! Go read the whole shebang.

The TV just said that Exxon has been getting a big government subsidy, also. What about subsidies for the poor folks? Do you have to be rich to qualify for Federal subsidies? It’s time to cut out the Federal subsidies for big oil companies. It’s time to Ditch Mitch. Kenneth Stepp, candidate for U.S. Senate, Democrat.
Terri,
I’m glad you posted this, I just finished posting something similar here.

Man, I’ll never be so glad to cut McConnell’s purse strings! But, let’s face it, I wish, more than anything, that we could try the clown on extortion because, as far as I am concerned, that’s exactly what it is!
I guess Tom Delay taught him well, huh?! No individual, I don’t care who it is, should have any amount of power because of “what he is”
So, I say to you Kenneth Stepp, what makes you think you can actually make a difference in this Democratic Primary?
Not that it really matters, I’ve already made up my mind on who I’ll be voting for in the Democratic Primary and that is Lt. Col. Andrew Horne and I will vote for him in the General Election as well.
As far as I am concerned, any one else in the Primary is only spinning their wheels or attempting to steal away votes from an otherwise substantial candidate, such as Horne.
That’s just my 2-cents worth, for what it’s worth.
Any of the eight Democratic candidates should be able to Ditch Mitch in November. I plan to vote for the Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate in November. If we Democrats stick together, we should be able to elect a Democratic U.S. Senator from Kentucky this year. Only when registered Democratic voters vote for Republicans do the Republican candidates win. If we Democrats stick together, the Democratic candidates should sweep the contested Federal races in Kentucky this November. Kenneth Stepp, Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate–KY.
Well, Kenneth, you little round of “sand-bagging” didn’t answer my question and it proves, once and for all, why so some people shouldn’t run for a political office!
Don’t try to dance around the subject because this isn’t national television. If wanted a “song and dance” routine, I’m sure I could find one on the internet real easy.
In my opinion, it’s people like you who force “democrats” to go vote for the Repukelicans.
M. Gavner, I’m not going to swap insults with you. When you got eight Democrats running for the privilege of standing against “Mitch” in the general election, you’ve got a better chance of nominating a winner.
In case you failed to notice, Kenneth, we already “have a winner” - and that’s Andrew Horne!
However, all I asked was very simple question and you somehow failed to answer it - that’s the main point.
I asked you what makes you think you can make a difference in the Democratic Primary?! Pretty straight forward, huh.
Nope, all I got was a song & dance routine and you clearly side-stepped it. I don’t know your qualifications, your stand on issues, your educatation level, etc.. So, you blew it, bud. Go find another outlet to vent on,’cause this ain’t it.
Who’s Andrew Horne?
