HEATHER RYAN ANNOUNCES HER CANDIDACY FOR THE 1ST DISTRICT CONGRESSIONAL SEAT IN KENTUCKY, YOUTUBE VIDEO.

Jim Pence January 27th, 2008

Remember Heather Ryan, the young lady fired from her job as executive director of the Maiden Alley Cinema, in Paducah, KY.? Read more about that incident here and here. She is running for Congress and hoping to unseat right wingnut, no show Ed Whitfield. Her Announcement video is the first video below.
The video below her announcement is audio of the meeting she had with her Board of Directors, and it is very revealing. The audio in the video is in segments and labeled audio break when a different segment is played. The audio has not been edited, but it has been enhanced for better quality. I put up 9+ minutes of the audio just to give you a feel of what went on at the meeting. The meeting audio is over an hour long and really tells a story. If any legitimate news outlet wants the entire audio contact me or Heather and we will get it to you.
Now I want to talk a little bit about Heather’s daughter Heaven. I have been around Heaven long enough to say with confidence that Heaven is a good child and it sickens me that she has been made to look like a little monster, by some of our right wing friends. I suggest that negative comments about children, made by those that have never met the child or have not taken the time to learn the child, are disturbing at least and could be construed as child abuse. It’s unbelievable that any adult with any sense of value would participate in such activities and those of us that know better shouldn’t tolerate it. It’s a shame when a little girl tries to ask a US Senator about her father, and it results in her mother, a military veteran, losing her job. Now the child has two things to worry about, her mother and her father. Shame on you Senator Mitch McConnell!!!
Special thanks to Mike Watt for the photo used in the second video below.

Heather is a seasoned campaign strategist. She managed Streit for Congress well.

Eric Streit was well publicized for his impressive Hollywood resume producing shows like Dr. Phil. And Heather’s masterful campaign work made sure no one knew about Eric Streit’s role as a writer and producer for the pornography giant Play Boy. Eric wrote and co-produced 21 episodes of Playboy’s Naked Truth. And don’t forget the 1997 classic “The Best of the Really Naked Truth.” It was a really thoughtful and educational TV series with hilarious reactions of real men unexpectedly confronted by totally naked women in the strangest places in this hysterical Playboy series.

Too bad Eric could not have done a Naked Truth reunion show over at Maiden Alley Cinema when Senator McConnell was there. That would have been worth watching on You Tube.

Just think if Heather had not kept Eric Streit’s job at Play Boy on the QT .

With Eric’s impressive run raising $14,000 and not winning a single county against Barlow I think Heather is the logical successor to Eric Streit. Lets get that $500 raised and we will need to raise an extra $59 for over priced gasoline to start hitting the campaign trail.

The language she used on this website and on You Tube was a masterful move as well. It will be interesting to see how voters view those words and actions.

You must be kidding! Congressman Whitfield has done a great job serving the people of the First District. What so you have to offer except a misinformed/misleading shrill voice?

The answer is of course NOTHING!

You got what your deserved — anyone who would put a sign that read “I’m Not Your Bitch Mitch” in the hands of a 12 year old, should expect no less that being fired.

It is interesting that you are “mad” at Mitch McConnell, but you are running against Ed Whitfield. You seem to be a very sad and confused person! I hope you get help soon.

  8. Jimon 28 Jan 2008 at 11:54 am

    Dear Russ,
Thank you for your comment. It’s too bad that you don’t know the facts and continue to be fooled by your right wingnut friends.
You have a good day now!!!!

It’s so good to see someone choose to participate in the process, rather than scream and rant against it. Or, use their minor child as a billboard for vulgarity. It’s this sort of level-headed responsibility that we all need.

Oh, wait. I guess I was thinking of some other candidate.

Well, Ms. Ryan should expect to do every bit as well as Mr. Cartwright did.

I don’t understand. Why is Heather not running against Mitch? Her whole message is about Mitch, not Whitfield. It costs the same $500 to run for the Senate as it does the House. She should run against Senator McConnell. Just think of the National media attention Heather could get.

  15. Joshon 28 Jan 2008 at 4:52 pm

I have to ask if Heather is really so passionately antiwar as she claims why did she back Eric Streit a hawkish Democratic candidate whose views on Iraq resembled Joe Lieberman more so than Kucinich.

She could of at the very least backed Jim Bloink, a true antiwar candidate over Streit. If you don’t believe Streit was downright hawkish watch this debate right here: http://www.ket.org/election/primary06_forums.htm. He uses Dick Cheeney’s favorite term “cut and run” when the antiwar Bloink challenges his pro-war stance.

  19. Jimon 28 Jan 2008 at 6:57 pm

I am trying to decide my support. I wish I could see the video too. If the girl was treated wrong, I am going to vote for her and even help her financially. But, Whitfield always tries to help us all too. I am not disappointed with him, but I will support my party if someone is trying out there and I like them. I want to know more about Heather Ryan. What kind of person is she? What are her credentials? Where does she stand on the issues?

To SunnyD #12: Heather Ryan made her announcement today to run for the HR from KY-1. She made a strong articulate statement about why the future of America depends on a change in Washington, which will replace the corrupt GOP with new leadership. You asked about Heather’s position on a list of issues that are important to all Americans. She will address these issues during the campaign in speeches and written statements. Be assured that your questions will be answered.

By the way, have you asked for a similar response from Ed Whitfield about his position on these crucial issues? He is already in Congress. What has he done to help Kentuckians and Americans on these issues?

  30. M. Gavneron 29 Jan 2008 at 2:02 am

    Russ Randall,

And that’s who I am assuming the “Russ” is above, I know all about you, bud. I also know about the “lies” your now telling trying to get Marvin “Alfred E. Neuman” Wilson, elected as State Representative, that J.R. Gray had to give up for his Labor Secretary position with Gov. Steve Beshear. You all watch this little weasel, he’s going around spreading the rumour mill that ‘ol Wilson was narrowly defeated by J.R., however, Wilson was “soundly defeated” the last election by J.R. Gray and make no bones about it, he was a little ticked off when heard this little shenanigan going around.

However, quite personally, I’m ready for Whitfield to go, he doesn’t give 2 hoots about the people of Western KY and all he’s worried about is getting that fat ‘ol retirement from serving in Congress, which, in my opinion, he doesn’t deserve. Look at it folks, the man’s a “LAWYER” and apparently, he isn’t a very good one either, otherwise he would be still be in private practice! That should tell you a whole lot, right there!

As far as Heather, you GO girl! As a MSU Alumni, I’ll help you out as much as I can. And as a Navy Veteran, I’ll help as much as I can on military vote as well(Pssssst! I am a Lifetime memeber of the Disabled American Veterans too!).

To do so only loses credibility for your cause. Please stick to what you know, Jim et al. From the photos at the top of the page, I don’t recall seeing any of your faces there.

  36. Russon 29 Jan 2008 at 12:16 pm

    M. Gavner,

First let me thank you for your service and the sacrifices you have made for this country. America can never pay its debt to those who have worn the uniform of their country and especially to those who were wounded or killed in action. Thanks Again!

I’m also a veteran. I think that gives both of us the right to support whichever candidate we chose to support, for whatever elected office. I encourage everyone to be involved in the process.

Having said that, I don’t think anyone is well served by name-calling. However, if you must call me names, your integrity will be better served if you get your facts right. You called me a “little weasel”. I think that if you check you will find that almost anyone who knows me will tell you that I am very straight forward — maybe too much so. Also, at 6′3″ and 275 pounds, few would call me little.

On the matter of Heather Ryan contending for the First Congressional seat held by Ed Whitfield, the public is always served best by open and honest debate on the issues. I am sure that Congressman Whitfield will be happy for such debate. However, the public will pay more attention if the candidates and their supporters stick to verifiable facts and refrain from name-calling, unsupportable claims and shrill campaign noise.

In conclusion, it seems that most of the voters in the 1st Congressional District are happy with the service that Congressman Whitfield has provided. After all, they elected him seven times by huge margins. In the past several elections the Congressman has received over 60% of the vote. For those that may be new to politics, those are landslide numbers.

  37. shawn dixon's hairon 29 Jan 2008 at 12:43 pm

So, Clarity, you were there? So were you a Mitch donor, or were you a theater employee or what?

  39. Jimon 29 Jan 2008 at 1:23 pm

    To Clarity,
Heather and I have the entire audio of the meeting she was asked to attend and she proved there was no such sign and all the folks, the big shots agreed, there was no such sign.
I have it on audio, so I suggest you got to those folks, the ones that fired her, and ask them about it. I know from listening to the audio, who started that vicious rumor and that will be addressed at the appropriate time.

  40. Missyon 29 Jan 2008 at 1:50 pm

I’ll have to echo SunnyD’s comment above. I’m no fan of career politicians, so let’s hear where Ms. Ryan stands on the issues.

Unless, of course, anti-war protesting and Republicans Are EEEEEEVIL! are her only issues.

Ah, thought so. Our own little Cindy Sheehan. *Sniff* We Kentuckians are so proud.

  41. Judyon 29 Jan 2008 at 2:02 pm

Missy and SunnyD, I am sure you will get Heather Ryan’s views on all the issues you listed above as this HR campaign moves forward. Again I ask, are you demanding the same information from Rep. Whitfield? I also notice that the Iraq War is not on your list of issues. After five years of Bush’s War, now costing us $171,000,000,000 (that’s $171 Billion) a year, with 4000 US troops dead and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi civilian deaths — I would assume this would be an issue of great importance to you and Rep. Whitfield. But we shall see.

  42. Missyon 29 Jan 2008 at 3:01 pm

Iraqi civilian deaths number between 70,000 - 100,000, not the “hundreds of thousands” you claim.

I can’t speak for SunnyD, but I see no need to list the Iraq War on the list of issues as we can clearly tell where Ms. Ryan stands on that issue.

As far as the rest of the list goes, why should we have to “demand the same information” from someone who has been our elected representative for 17 years? His positions on those issues are a matter of public record, and the informed voters among us already know where he stands.

  43. Missyon 29 Jan 2008 at 3:29 pm

  45. andy42302on 29 Jan 2008 at 3:55 pm

“why should we have to “demand the same information” from someone who has been our elected representative for 17 years? His positions on those issues are a matter of public record, and the informed voters among us already know where he stands.”

That statement alone qualifies Heather for my vote.

  46. Missyon 29 Jan 2008 at 4:09 pm

Andy, forgive me if I’m confused by your sentiment. Someone cries foul when I ask for Ms. Ryan’s positions on issues, because I should be demanding the same information from the other side (how unfair! Issues!). I point out that I already have the information on the other side. And that statement somehow qualifies Ms. Ryan for your vote? I know that the left usually despises facts and information, but I didn’t know they were so out-of-the-closet about it.

  47. veton 29 Jan 2008 at 6:41 pm

  49. andy42302on 29 Jan 2008 at 8:45 pm

Missy, I can’t honestly say that Heather Ryan would be a good representative because I’m ignorant of her positions on many issues. I’m impressed with some of her statements but again, I’m simply not educated on Heather Ryan enough to give an honest assessment. I am however, knowledgeable of Ed Whitfield’s positions and I’m unimpressed. His voting record leans anti worker, anti children health care, anti constitutional, pro war and pro rhetoric. To put this in perspective, let me say that if George Bush could and had the audacity to run for another term, Happy The Clown would suffice as a qualified opponent. Ditto for Mitch McConnell and Ed Whitfield. And no, I’m not referring to any opponent in a negative manner. If there’s any part of this that needs elaboration, please feel free to ask. Thanks, Andy

  51. go.gopon 29 Jan 2008 at 11:16 pm

I am truly amazed that people who live in the 1st District can give an honest consideration to Mrs. Ryan in opposition to Congressman Whitfield. Whitfield has served the district well in his tenure, and will continue to do so when he is re-elected in November. All I have seen on this site from those opposed is name calling and tempers flaring. How about some real, sensible discussion? Somehow a Congressman’s experience is automatically what turns you away from him? Oh, and since we are on the “Ditch Mitch” site I guess someone should discuss our great Senator…. Go Mitch, all the way!!!!!!!!! go.gop

  52. andy42302on 30 Jan 2008 at 9:44 am

Umm, okay Gogop, how about some real, sensible discussion? It’s not the experience of a Congressman as much as their track record. If they’ve voted poorly and as in Ed’s case, seldom votes, is that the kind of experience we’re looking for? You mentioned that “Whitfield has served his district well”. For the sake of sensible discussion, please elaborate. Also, when you say “our great Senator…. Go Mitch, all the way!!!!!!!!!”, are you saying that he’s done a good job? Considering that he’s been the Bush/Cheney bobbing head yes man for 7 years, are you equally satisfied in the Bush administrations performance. Are you satisfied with where the country is and the direction that we’re heading? Assuming your login name reflects a pro GOP ideology, are you pleased with the fiscal spending of Mitch and the 109th Congress? I look forward to(but don’t expect) a real and sensible response.

  53. go.gopon 30 Jan 2008 at 10:08 am

Yes, Andy, experience does count, and I am pleased with the experience I have seen from Whitfield. What votes are you displeased with? Because of Congressman Ed Whitfield’s dedication to his district, there has been much building economically in the smaller communities, where it is needed. As for McConnell, again, yes I am pleased with his service to the Commonwealth of Ky and the United States. I thought that was apparent in my first post. Although I am a GOP proponent, I do make my own decisions, and therefore support those who I agree with. I am personally satisfied with the direction the Bush admin. has led us. Do I agree with every single thing that takes place? No. Is there any one person you agree with completely? I doubt it. We elect those who we feel will do the best job, not a perfect job. As for the 109th congress’ spending, does Mitch control the purse strings of the whole Congress? He is in the minority. Sensible dicussion, such as this (that you did not expect,) is what is needed.

  54. andy42302on 30 Jan 2008 at 11:29 am

The majority of people in the U.S. are not happy with Bush’s leadership. Therefore gogop, you’re an exception. You don’t go into much discussion other than you just like Bush’s leadership. If you liked it so much, you should have no objections to the fall out that’s a result from it: a war with no strategy, a divided nation, an economy that’s snowballing out of control, the wealth of the country gone to the wealthiest, job growth at a standstill, an unimaginable debt, 7 years of slush fund borrowing and spending, bigger government, and the ruin of your very own party. You should be proud of the demise of your party, the “thumping” they took in 2006, and watching them jump ship like rats. From your own admission, that’s the very leadership you’re so personally satisfied with.

  55. go.gopon 30 Jan 2008 at 7:08 pm

Andy, I love it when folks take one side and never open their eyes to see anything else. Accuse me of the same thing, I have been before. Just because you see the country in this UTTER DESTRUCTION, does not mean that is my perception of our President’s leadership. Also, just because “the majority of the people in the US are not happy with Bush” does not change my mind. I do not have to be in the majority. They are not always “right”. Jobs are still being created in record numbers, the economy is not faltering, it is growing. Sure certain areas, such as housing have dramatically slowed down, but the housing market is not the entire economy. Bush has introduced a budget that will have the country on track to a surplus by 2012. And this President is the one who introduced the idea of the rebates to help in the enhancing the economy. For “a war with no strategy” we are making trmendous advances in Iraq, even by the dems (your party, I assume) own admissions. I have two brothers who serve, and are proud to do so, with 4 deployments combined so far. What is wrong with wealthy people getting wealthier? I have never understood what jealousy can cause this type of reaction to working people. If they are wealthy, they are working for it, let them have it. Do you work so that the govt can take it away and give it to someone else? Oh yeah, social welfare WAS started by the dems wasnt it? I have no idea who you are referring to in “jumping ship like rats”, but it’s not me. The Republican Party still encompasses my core values and beliefs.

  56. andy42302on 30 Jan 2008 at 7:54 pm

gop, there are a few of your comments that I may not agree with but there’s also a few that abandon any reasonable debate. For you to state that “jobs are being created in record numbers” and “the economy is not faltering, it is growing” indicates to me that you are either grossly ignorant of current events or you hope that everyone else here is. As I’m typing this, I’m hearing a TV advertisement from the other room saying “eat all you want and still lose weight and we couldn’t say it on TV if it wasn’t true”. I think I’ll go and argue with my TV on those 2 misleading statements as I’m sure I’ll get a far more intelligent rebuttal than I’m getting with you.

I promised myself I would never post on one of these “forums” but after reading the various posts, I simply can’t resist. “Jim” honestly answer this question please. Are you telling everyone on your numerous websites(why so many by the way?)that you actually intend to vote for Heather Ryan for congress simply because you contend she was wrongfully dismissed from her position? Help me with something I am struggling to understand. She and you obviously believe she was wronged by Mr. Mcconnell. If that be true, why is she not trying to unseat Mr. McConnell? I await your learned responses. One other question, do you have an opinion as to why the original video was removed from Youtube? Could it be that it contradicted her original statement to the press? While I appreciate your loyalty to the party of your choice, you apparently are willing to sacrifice your party to unqualified candidates at all costs. Be careful what you wish for, you will surely get it.

who was going to run against “No show whitfield” Mitch already has a veteran running against him

  59. Larry0927on 31 Jan 2008 at 12:44 am

Vet, with all due respect to you, I will ask you the same question. Are you willing to state that you are prepared at all costs to vote for Heather Ryan or me for that matter as your congressman simply because she or me is a democrat? You know as much about me as you do Heather. Be honest, put your passion aside for a minute and tell me you would rather have Heather Ryan in Congress as opposed to two incumbents who have funnelled millions of Federal dollars into the Commonwealth and city or county in which you reside. Please help me to understand your logic. To answer your question, Heather didn’t run against Mitch because she and you know the state democratic party was not about to support her against Mitch for all the obvious reasons. I’ll ask the question again, are you prepared to vote for Heather Ryan for congress simply because you believe she was wrongfully fired at the hands of Mitch Mcconnell? Please help me to understand your reasoning. I’m sure you have sound logic so please educate me. I don’t expect you to reveal this info but I would love to know where Jim and you reside and what your occupation is. Tell me yours and I’ll tell you mine.

Larry I have never said I intend to vote for anyone in Kentucky’s 1st district, because I don’t live in that district, but neither does Ed Whitfield.

OH Larry where are you still no reply

  64. Larry0927on 31 Jan 2008 at 9:05 pm

    Vet and Jim,
Sorry to be so late in responding. Unlike you I am not yet retired. Fair is fair, I live in McCracken County and have been in the financial services business for 36 years. Thank you for disclosing your background. At least I can now somewhat understand your reasoning although I may disagree with it.

Based on both of your past occupations, I also now understand all of the AFL-CIO info and survey on your various sites.

All the best to you. As I said before, be careful what you wish for as you may surely get it.

Larry I was A superintendent and the manager of ASRC’s Tank Farm and not a member of a union when I retired, however I belonged to the rubber workers earlier in my career and was a union officer.I’ve experienced both sides of labor and management and both sides of the contract negotiating table.

Why were there so many audio breaks in the recording of the Ryan interview? Were things being cut out?

    Concerned,
As the post said “If any legitimate news outlet wants the entire audio contact me.”
